An aerial view of the ocean, a new vantage point, blue and textured and ever-changing.

Seventy-one percent of Earth’s surface is covered with water.  It is that water which holds fifty to eighty percent of all life on Earth.  Earth’s water is life-giving, life-containing. Such life is often described as “other-worldly”, appearing to us as different, alien.  

An exploration in the processes of dye sublimation and polyester manipulation, this piece mimics the interactions between light, life and water, creating what appears to be oceanic, but allowing a sense of life to manifest.
